Overview
The United Fiber’s VLU/FTTH service enables the Service Provider (SP) to provide to end-user high speed broadband connections through United Fiber’s optical network and the respective optical circuit that ends up inside the end user’s residence.
For this purpose, United Fiber’s appropriate active network and optical network equipment (optical fiber cables) are used up to user’s residence or business building.
The FTTx service demarcation points are:
a. towards the end user’s end point, the Building Entry Point (BEP) that is United Fiber’s optical network termination point at end user’s residence building or
b. towards the end user’s end point the floor box that is United Fiber’s optical network termination point at end user’s residence or business building and
c. to the network side, the concentration node in the relative United Fiber’s Point of Presence (PoP).
VLU/FTTH is available at least at downstream speeds of 30 Mbps, 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 200 Mbps, 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and 1.000 Mbps and up to 10 Gbps for Business users. The upstream speed per product is set to at least 10% downstream speed.
Through VLU/FTTH service the SPs may provide reliable broadband services to its end-users such as Internet, TV (IPTV), Video on Demand, Telephony (VoIP), and Other Services.
Service Details
The VLU/FTTH service provides optical access technology connection between:
- The Ethernet type interface terminal equipment of optical network (ONT) that owned and installed by Service Provider, within end user’s area; and
- the concentration node located in United Fiber’s PoP where the traffic (from the end users) is delivered to SPs, via NGA connect service.
Optical Line Termination (OLT) concentrates the incoming traffic from a certain number of end users’ buildings via an extensive fiber optic network. The connection between end user active equipment and OLT node takes place through suitable optical connections. Then each OLT node is connected to United Fibers’ PoP using adequate optical interfaces.
VLU / FTTH Service Terms
However, the following conditions apply to the provision of VLU/FTTH service:
Condition 1: SP should sign an agreement with United Fiber that will be in accordance with the Reference Offer (VLU).
Condition 2: SP should receive an NGA service at United Fiber’s PoP that aggregates the access nodes (OLTs) serving the end user.
Condition 3: End user’s address to be included in United Fiber’s FTTH coverage area. Service availability is verified via United Fiber’s WCRM.
Condition 4: Site survey at end user building to be completed successfully.
Condition 5: Access to end user building should be permitted and the installation of optical cabling up to the fiber optic distribution box in the building and/or on the floor where the end user’s residence is located should be possible.
