United Fiber, sister company of Nova, becomes the 2nd largest FTTH network in Greece
- United Group accelerating fiber-to-the-home investments as part of its 2 billion euro investment program in Nova and United Fiber
- 300,000 homes and 52,000 buildings already passed, out of which the majority being ready for customers to get connected.

Athens, March 19 2024. United Group, continues to accelerate the Fiber to the Home network infrastructure of Greece. United Fiber, the 100% sister company of Nova, has as of March 2024 the 2nd largest FTTH network in the country, reaching 300,000 homes passed and 52,000 buildings passed, which the majority of them being ready for customers to get connected.
Greek consumers are currently experiencing the lowest internet speeds in Europe with a lot of quality problems as 92% of the internet connections rely on copper. Fiber-to-the-home will help Greek customers to upgrade their digital infrastructure and reap the benefits of the Gigabit society.
United Group, which has an infrastructure deployment strategy in all countries where UG operates, is the 4th largest investor in Greece, having announced its 2 billion investment plan for new Nova until 2027, out of which EUR 500 million have been already realized by the end of 2023.
Through this investment, United Fiber has materialized an impressive acceleration, increasing the pace of roll out of fiber network 5 times as compared within 1 year and with a growth rate of deployment 30,000 houses per month while connecting 2,500 buildings per month. As a result, while the nationwide fiber-to-the home penetration of the country is 8% at United Fiber network is x2.5 higher at 20%.
This pace of rollout is enabling United Fiber to reach 1 million households all over Greece, by the first quarter of 2026, and drastically upgrade their digital experience through the migration from the copper network to the high-speed internet and connectivity fiber offers.
United Fiber is currently building the FTTH network across Greece, currently working in 85% of scope areas at a regional and local level, comprising: Attica Region: Athens (Patisia, Koletti), Nikaia, Aegaleo, Ilion, Agia Varvara, Agioi Anargyroi, Perama, Keratsini Kallithea, Korydallos, Chaidari, Central Macedonia Region: Pavlou Mela, Neapoli-Sykeon, Kordelio-Evosmos, Peloponese Region: Kalamata, Loutraki, Kyparissia, Megalopolis, Amaliada, Crete Region: Heraklion, Malevizio, Thessaly Region: Larissa, Tyrnavos and East Attica Regional Unit: Artemis.
